The Assignment
SmartOps develops inventory optimization software. The Company offers software products that provide planning applications for supply chain analysis, targets, and performance. SmartOps sells its products to the manufacturing, technology, pharmaceutical, distribution, and retail industries worldwide. The company's main selling venue is an annual executive symposium that typically attracts 20-30 high level inventory management executives. Our assignment was to design an invitation that would attract a high number of attendees to the executive symposium.
The Solution
Develop a personalized kit to invite prospective supply chain executives from Fortune 500 companies. The Inventory Avenger 3-dimensional kit was customized for each executive - inviting them to become a “Supply Chain Super Hero” to save their company while highlighting the SmartOps software as their “super power”.
The box mailer listed each recipients name, title and company throughout a personalized 3D-printed comic book came with a pair of 3D glasses. Illustrated in both male and female versions, the kit featured their 3D comic book, 3D glasses (also rendered on to the comic book character), a personalized 3D poster, power bar and literature on the SmartOps software and details about the executive symposium.

The comic books and posters were printed in 3D and sent to target prospects, inviting them to attend an industry symposium that was hosted by SmartOps.

The Results
The Inventory Avenger invitations doubled attendance form the prior year and lead to five new customers - representing $20 million in new business for SmartOps.
